Overview
Tahara is Aichi's southernmost city, located at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula where Mikawa Bay meets the Pacific Ocean. The city of about 66,000 residents is best known as the home of a highly sophisticated Toyota factory producing Lexus vehicles.

Transport
Mikawa Tahara Station is the terminal station on Meitetsu Main Line. Buses and taxis serve the peninsula but a rental car is recommended for efficient sightseeing.
Weather
Best visited January-March for rapeseed flower gardens, or June-August for beach activities. Shoulder seasons offer mild temperatures.
