Overview
Stepanavan is a quiet provincial city in the Dzoraget River valley, serving as the gateway to Lori Berd Fortress — a medieval walled city with dramatic cliffside ruins and ancient hot-water piping. The town is also the base for the famous Dendropark, 12 km south, founded by a Polish researcher in 1933 with trees from around the world.
