Overview

Santo André is one of the municipalities composing Greater São Paulo, notable for its sharp contrast between the urban main district and the rainforest-covered Paranapiacaba district. The Paranapiacaba village preserves British railway-era architecture and serves as a gateway to the Atlantic forest with excellent hiking, including a 15km trail to the coast through Vale do Quilombo.
