Overview

Sangju is a historic inland city in North Gyeongsang Province, serving as the head of Gyeongsang-do during the early Joseon Dynasty and the etymology of the province's name alongside Gyeongju. The city is famous for dried persimmons (gotgam), silk production, rice cultivation, and is known nationwide as the 'City of Bicycles.'
