Overview
Sakaiminato is a working fishing port on Tottori's western border where the catch is exceptionally fresh and local crab is a regional specialty. The town gained cultural fame as the birthplace of Mizuki Shigeru, creator of the beloved manga Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro, whose monster universe now lines Mizuki Shigeru Road with bronze statues and colorful murals.
