Overview
Barranca de Metztitlán is a dramatic natural reserve in Hidalgo state, centered on the deep canyons carved by the Río Venados (also called Río Metztitlán). It offers stark desert canyon scenery, a Ramsar-listed wetland at Laguna Metztitlán, and rare endemic flora and fauna in a remote setting rarely visited by international tourists.
