Overview
Rayong offers a slower-paced coastal escape 179 km from Bangkok, with modest beaches, tropical fruit orchards (especially durian, rambutan, mangosteen in May-June), and access to islands like Ko Samet. It's part of Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor but retains a provincial, working-city feel with an oil refinery presence.
