Overview
Portorož (Italian: Portorose, literally "Port of Roses") is a historic seaside resort on Slovenia's Adriatic coast. Its modern development began in the late 19th century with health resorts, and in the early 20th century it became one of the grandest seaside resorts in Central Europe, alongside Opatija, Lido, and Grado.

As a tourist area near the Italian border, both Slovenian and Italian are commonly used. English is understood in tourist establishments.
Transport
City buses run between Portorož and Piran, Bernardin, and Lucija approximately every 15 minutes or longer.
