Overview
Pontal do Paraná is a small coastal town in Paraná state with 23 km of beaches along Brazil's Atlantic coast. The town comes alive from December to March when beach tourists arrive from across the country, filling the sandy shores and waterfront promenades.

Beachside restaurants along Av Beira-mar serve fresh seafood. Local specialties include shrimp dishes and mullet (tainha). Seasonal food festivals celebrate seafood.

Transport
PR-412 connects Pontal do Paraná south to Matinhos; PR-135 leads northwest to Paranaguá and connections to Curitiba. Ferry from Ilha do Mel arrives at Pontal do Sul.
Weather
Summer (December-March) is hot and humid with peak beach season. Winter months are quieter with milder temperatures but fewer services open.
