Overview
Murdeshwar is a coastal pilgrimage town where the world's tallest Shiva statue (123 feet) stands overlooking the Arabian Sea alongside the world's tallest temple gopura (249 feet). The temple complex offers dramatic architecture, a lift to aerial viewpoints, and beach access on three sides of the Shiva Linga-shaped land mass.

Safety
Beach swimming requires caution as currents can be strong. The statue's concrete arm broke off in high winds, so be aware of weather conditions.
Transport
Murdeshwar railway station is on Konkan Railway. Auto-rickshaws are the main local transport. NH-66 passes through town connecting to Gokarna and Mangalore.
Weather
October-March is ideal with comfortable temperatures (22-32°C). April-June is hot (up to 35°C). Monsoon (June-Sept) brings heavy rainfall.
