Overview
Motovun is the most touristy of Istria's hilltop villages, crowned by 14th-century Venetian fortifications with two thick walls surrounding the historic center. The town has gained fame in the 21st century as a truffle destination, with black truffles harvested in summer and prized white truffles appearing in fall and winter.
