Limited food near main caves—only Chata Macocha operates close to the gorge. Larger restaurants in surrounding villages serve lunch menus 100-180 Kč.
Money
Czech Koruna (CZK/Kč) is the local currency. ATMs available in Blansko and larger villages. Cash useful for caves and village restaurants; cards accepted at hotels.
Safety
Macocha Gorge has claimed 80+ lives from cliff falls—stay behind barriers. Cave temperatures stay cold (8-10°C) even in summer, requiring a jacket. Trails can be slippery after rain.
Transport
Blansko train station connects to Brno (40 min) and onward regional trains. Buses from Blansko serve Skalní Mlýn, Macocha, Sloup, and Ostrov u Macochy. Bike rental available at Blansko station.
Weather
Cave interiors maintain 8-10°C year-round regardless of outside temperature. Summer brings crowds and 8AM-4PM cave hours; winter reduces to 8AM-2PM with closures on Mondays.
