Overview
Mljet is a forested island in Southern Dalmatia with one of Croatia's most scenic national parks. The island features two connected saltwater lakes (veliko jezero and malo jezero), a Benedictine monastery on an islet in the large lake, and secluded sandy beaches at Saplunara.

Activities
Mljet National Park (€12) has saltwater lakes and monastery. Free activities include snorkeling in the lakes, hiking to Veliki Grad peak (~500m), and visiting Odysseus's Cave near Babino Polje.
Connectivity
Mobile coverage available via Croatian carriers (T-Mobile, Vip, Tele2). WiFi at hotels and some restaurants. Limited connectivity in remote beach areas.
Money
Croatia uses the Euro (€). ATMs available in Sobra and larger villages. Credit cards accepted at hotels and larger restaurants but carry cash for smaller establishments and ferries.
Transport
Jadrolinija ferries connect Sobra to Prapratno (Pelješac) 5 times daily. Speed boats to Dubrovnik from Sobra (06:15, 17:35) and Polače (16:55). Car ferry to Split on Saturdays only.
Weather
Mediterranean climate with mild winters (9°C January average) and warm summers (24°C July average). Best swimming conditions May-October.
