Overview
Mkuze Game Reserve offers an intimate safari experience in northern KwaZulu-Natal, away from the crowds of larger parks. The reserve is known for its excellent bird watching, with the Fig Forest providing habitat for numerous species attracted by the fruit-bearing trees.

Health
Malaria precautions recommended. Bring insect repellent, first aid kit, and any personal medications.

Essential items: torch, hat, binoculars, first aid kit, insect repellent, camera, and sufficient drinking water.
Transport
Approximately 4 hours from Durban by car. King Shaka International Airport is the nearest major airport.
Water
Bring your own drinking water as reserve water is heavily chlorinated. Bottled water available at Mantuma camp shop.
Weather
Summer gate hours: 5AM-7PM. Winter gate hours: 6AM-6PM. Plan wildlife viewing for early morning or late afternoon.
