Visit April-June for fresh mangoes. Try local sweets Kansat Chamcham and Rosokadamba, unique to Malda. Aamsattwa made from Gopalbhog mango is the most famous.
Safety
The area is prone to flooding during monsoon season. Avoid visiting between July-September if possible.
Shopping
Mango market beside University of Gour Banga is the top shopping destination. Rathbari and Chittaranjan Markets sell mango products year-round.
Transport
Malda has two railway stations: Malda Town and Singabad. State buses operate from NBSTC Malda Depot. National Highway 12 passes through the city.
