As part of Siljansbygden, Leksand is regarded as a caretaker of Swedishness, with a knäckebröd (crisp bread) bakery, popular Midsummer celebration, and an ice hockey team unusually successful for such a small town — Leksand IF has won the Swedish Hockey Championship four times.
