Overview
Borlänge is a working-class Swedish town of roughly 51,000 people in Dalarna province, developed around a railway stop in the 1870s. While its modernist city centre was voted ugliest in Sweden in 2018, it serves as a practical base for exploring central Dalarna, with ski facilities at Romme Alpin nearby and Falun just 20 minutes away by car.
