Overview
Leigh is a tiny coastal town with fewer than 500 residents, famous for sitting next to Goat Island Marine Reserve, New Zealand's first marine reserve established in 1975. The clear waters offer world-class snorkeling and diving just meters from shore, with abundant fish and marine life protected inside the reserve boundaries.
