Overview
Konark is famous for its 13th-century Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site built by Raja Narasinghs Deva I of the Ganga Dynasty in 1250 CE. The temple is designed as a colossal chariot with 24 wheels and seven horses, dedicated to the sun god Surya.
