Overview
Khon Kaen is a major university city and historic centre of silk production in Thailand's Isaan region. The city offers a slower pace than Bangkok with ancient Khmer ruins, hand-woven Mudmee silk in Chonnabot, and access to mountain plateau day trips at Phu Kradung.
