Overview
Kamikawa is a small Hokkaido town enjoying a recovery after heavy industries shuttered in the 1970s, thanks to visitors heading to neighbouring Daisetsuzan National Park. While not a major destination itself, it serves as a useful transit point and pleasant place to break up a journey, stock up on food or gas before heading to Sounkyo Onsen or destinations further east.
