Kamala is one of the quieter areas on Phuket's famed west coast, situated between Patong to the south and Surin Beach to the north. While the southern end of the beach can get busy during high season, the northern end remains peaceful year-round.

Beach bungalows range 1,600-2,000 baht/night in high season. Book one night on arrival and find better deals locally rather than through airport agencies.

Food
Beachfront seafood restaurants display fresh catch on ice. Village restaurants with fewer Western dishes typically have the best Thai food.
Health
The only medical service is Kamala Clinic on Kamala main road, operating daily 16:00-20:00.
Transport
Taxis from Phuket Airport cost 500-600 baht. Local open-sided buses run hourly along the main road and are the cheapest way to travel to Phuket Town.
