Overview
Kafue National Park spans approximately 22,400 km², making it one of the largest parks in Africa and Zambia. The park offers exceptional wildlife viewing with diverse ecosystems ranging from flood plains in the north to desert regions in the south, supporting large herds of herbivores and predators.

Park fees: International US$40/day, SADC US$30/day, Zambian citizens K40,320/day, residents K158,400/day. Prices include entry and bed night fee.
Money
Most lodges accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard with 2.5% surcharge at Mayukuyuku). Cash in Zambian Kwacha recommended for tips and incidentals.
Season
Best visited July-October (dry season). Most lodges close November-June due to flooding. Northern areas receive more rain than the south.
Transport
Drive from Lusaka (4-5 hours) or take bus to Mongu then arrange lodge pickup at M9 road. Self-drive requires 4x4 vehicle during wet season.
Wildlife
Large herds of herbivores and predators visible in Busanga Flood Plains. Birdwatching is exceptional. Animals concentrate near water sources during dry season.
