Overview
Junik is a compact Albanian-majority town in western Kosovo near the Albanian border, known for its Ottoman heritage including the 1570 Çoku Mosque and the 17th-century Tower of Brahim Hoxha. The surrounding Accursed Mountains offer dramatic glacial lakes, the Junik Canyon carved by the Erenik River, and trailheads for summiting Kosovo's highest peak Gjeravica at 2,656 m.
