Ilha do Mel is an hourglass-shaped island just off the coast of Paraná, Brazil. The island has no roads or cars, only a network of sandy trails that spread out from the village center of Nova Brasília.

Accommodation
Many guesthouses operate only during summer season. Book ahead during peak periods. Those farther from the dock tend to be cheaper.
Activities
Best known for surfing, hiking to forts and grottos, and exploring nearby islands by boat. No motor vehicles allowed on the island.
Crowds
The island can become unbearably crowded on weekends and public holidays. Mid-week visits offer a quieter experience.
Transport
The island is completely car-free with only sandy walking trails. All exploration is on foot from Nova Brasília village.
