Overview
Ichkabal is one of the largest and oldest Maya archaeological sites in the Yucatán peninsula, covering 30 square kilometers—about three times larger than Chichen Itza. This "lost city" remained undiscovered by modern archaeology until 1995 and was only opened to tourists in late 2024, offering an authentic exploration experience without the crowds found at more famous ruins.
