Overview
Gongshan is a remote frontier town where Tibetan, Lisu, and Dulong cultures intersect in everyday life. The city sits at the northern edge of the Nujiang Valley, surrounded by three major mountain ranges including the Biluo Snow Mountains and Gaoligong Mountains.

Hotels near the bus station offer double rooms for ¥60-150 per night. Basic but adequate for budget travelers. No hostels mentioned.
Culture
Lisu, Dulong, and Tibetan minorities live here. The Piao Niu Wu ceremony is unique to Gongshan but rarely performed. Christian church holds services Sundays at 11:00.
Money
No ATMs accept foreign credit cards in Gongshan or Fugong County. Bring sufficient cash from Liuku or do not expect to withdraw money in the area. Domestic Chinese cards only.
Transport
Taxis loop the one-way circle road continuously, costing ¥3-5 daytime and ¥5-10 at night. No public buses mentioned. Everything is walkable in Cikai City.
Trekking
Hengduan Mountains offer excellent hiking but are wild with unpredictable weather. No hiking maps available in Gongshan—must purchase from Aluo's Hostel in Bingzhongluo or Dimaluo.
