Overview
Goiás City is a UNESCO World Heritage site preserving Brazil's colonial gold-rush era without the tourist hordes of Ouro Preto. The cobblestone streets, baroque churches, and 18th-century buildings have been maintained largely intact since the capital moved to Goiânia in 1933.
