Overview
Goiânia is one of Brazil's planned cities, founded in 1933 with a radial street plan designed by Atílio Correia Lima using art-deco style for its first buildings. The city grew far beyond its original 50,000-inhabitant design to over 1½ million residents in the metro area of 2½ million.
