Overview
Galatas is a quiet coastal town on the eastern Peloponnese, best known as the departure point for the short ferry ride to the island of Poros. The area is famous for the Lemonodasos ("Lemon forest"), a vast orchard of 30,000 lemon and orange trees that has been celebrated in Greek literature since Kosmas Politis's 1930 novel of the same name.

The Lemonodasos is a protected area with over 30,000 citrus trees. Wear comfortable shoes for walking the orchard paths and bring water in summer.
Transport
The main ferry terminal is located on Epar.Od. Ermionis with regular crossings to Poros taking 5 minutes. KTEL buses connect Galatas to larger Peloponnese towns.
