Overview
Fukuyama makes a convenient stop between Hiroshima and Okayama on the Sanyo Shinkansen line. The city is best known for its reconstructed castle standing just outside the station, and for Tomonoura, an ancient port town with over a thousand years of history.

Connectivity
WiFi is widely available in hotels and train stations. For sustained connectivity, purchase a Japanese SIM card or portable WiFi device at major airports or convenience stores.
Money
Japan is primarily a cash society. Many smaller establishments, particularly in Tomonoura, may not accept credit cards. Carry sufficient yen.
Transport
Fukuyama is a Shinkansen stop on the Sanyo line between Hiroshima and Okayama. Use Hikari or Sakura trains, as Nozomi does not stop here.
