Overview
Delos is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Greece, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and considered among mankind's most important cultural and historical places. According to mythology, it is the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, and it was a major Panhellenic sanctuary from the 7th century BC.

Before you go
Money
Prices are in euros. Boat trip costs €22 plus €8 entrance (€4 for 65+, free for students). Guided tours €60 including everything.
Safety
No shade on the island. Bring sunscreen, hat, and plenty of water. Wear sturdy shoes for rocky terrain.
Transport
Boats depart Mykonos at 9AM, 10AM, and 11AM, returning at 12:15PM, 1:30PM, and 3PM. The crossing takes about 30 minutes. Site is closed Mondays.
Weather
The Cyclades are notoriously windy. Small boats may be cancelled during strong winds. Summer is peak season.
