Overview
Coolongolook is not a destination for sightseeing but rather a convenient Pacific Highway rest stop. The town wasn't bypassed during the late 1990s Pacific Highway upgrade because it wasn't cost-effective, and the highway still runs right through the middle of town.

Three cafes operate: Andy's Cherry Pie Cafe (cherry pies, hash browns), Salty Dog Cafe (seafood, calamari), and Unearthed (simple fare, great coffee).

Coolongolook sits directly on the Pacific Highway (A1) rather than being bypassed. The highway's local name is Bengal Street, which appears in GPS systems. Speed limit through town is 80 km/h.
