Overview
Český Těšín is a compact Czech-Polish border town of 23,300 people, split by the Olza River from its twin Cieszyn in Poland. The open Schengen border makes it easy to explore both towns on foot, with Polish shops and Czech pubs sharing the same streets.

Money
Czech Koruna (CZK) used on the Czech side; Polish Zloty (PLN) used across the border in Cieszyn. Both currencies accepted at some border-area businesses.
Transport
Train station (Nádražní) is centrally located; trains to Ostrava every 30 minutes (35 min). Bus station adjacent but serves local routes only.
