Overview
Central Jiangmen is the administrative and commercial heart of Jiangmen municipality, spanning the districts of Jianghai, Pengjiang and Xinhui. The city serves as a practical base for exploring the UNESCO-listed Diaolou towers in the surrounding Kaiping area, and offers museums documenting the mass emigration of Wuyi region Chinese to overseas communities across five continents.

Mandarin Chinese is primary language. English signage is limited outside major hotels and tourist sites.
Museums
Several major museums including the Wuyi Overseas Chinese Museum and Jiangmen Art Gallery offer free entry, closed Mondays.
Transport
Jiangmen General Bus Station is located in the north of the city for routes heading west, north and east. Local bus routes are extensive but primarily in Chinese characters.
