Overview

Food
Bring all food into the park. No restaurants or stores exist inside. Pack out all trash.
Safety
Malaria-carrying mosquitoes are present; use DEET repellant and consider prophylaxis. Watch for snakes and other jungle hazards.

No public transport reaches the park directly. Visitors typically arrange transportation from Copán Ruinas or Gracias.
Water
Water is available at the entrance and campgrounds, but foreign travelers should treat or buy bottled water to avoid illness.
Weather
Rainforest climate means wet trails year-round. Even dry season brings muddy conditions on upper slopes. Bring rain gear.
