Overview
Cegléd is a modest Hungarian city nicknamed "the gate of the Great Plain" (Alföld kapuja), located 70 km southeast of Budapest between the Duna and Tisza rivers. With a population of 35,000 in 2022, it offers a slower-paced alternative to the capital with significant Calvinist heritage—the biggest church in Central Europe, thermal baths with aquapark, and several niche museums including a Drum Museum and Stove Museum.
