Overview

Cantel is a small K'iche' Maya village perched on a hilltop 10 km from Quetzaltenango, offering a quiet escape into highland indigenous culture. The village centre features a colonial Catholic church and the ruins of the Municipal Palace destroyed in 2002, while the CA2 highway valley below holds much of the commercial activity.
