Overview
Candelaria Caves National Park contains one of the largest cave systems in Central America, with a total passage length of about 80 km and chambers reaching 60 meters in ceiling height. The park is managed by local Mayan communities, offering an authentic cultural experience alongside geological wonder.

The park charges access fees at each of three entrances. Hotel Candelaria Lodge and most local services are cash only—no credit cards or payment apps accepted.

Always explore with a local Mayan guide as required by park regulations. The underground river sections can be deep—use caution when floating in inner tubes.
Transport
The three cave entrances are located near Chisec, Mucbilhá (Raxruha), and Xuctzul. Transport is typically by local bus or shuttle from towns in the Central Highlands.
