Boquete is known as the Valley of the Flowers. Nestled in the western highlands of Panama, it shares mountain ranges and incredible wildlife. You can hike for half a day or all day to see the resplendent quetzal or howler monkeys. Key sights include Los Ladrillos, a huge wall with volcanic tubes, and coffee farms like Cafes de la Luna.

Activities include white-water rafting on the Chiriqui River ($65-90), dirtbike riding ($125 half-day), coffee plantation tours ($30), zip-lining at Boquete Tree Trek ($65), horseback riding ($35), golf, rock climbing at Los Ladrillos, and visiting the Caldera Hot Springs ($2). Hiking trails include the Quetzal Trail (closed for reconstruction as of Feb 2024), Pipeline Trail ($5), and The Lost Waterfalls Trail ($10). Also the Volcan Baru National Park ($5) offers the highest point in Panama.

The food is fresh and varied. Local restaurants include Sugar and Spice, Meye Bounore (authentic Panamanian), Bistro Boquete ($8-13 meals), Fonda de la Merry ($3-5), El Casona Mexicana ($5-8), The Rock (from $9), Big Daddy's Grill ($7.95), and Malu Cafe & Bakery. For drinks, Zanzibar offers live music at weekends, and La Cabaña is a late-night bar open Fridays and Saturdays.

The covered market next to the central square sells vegetables and fruits. Plaza Los Establos on the main street has souvenir shops. The region is known for strawberries, oranges, and high-end coffee, including geisha.
