Overview
Bhadrachalam is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage town on the banks of the Godavari River in Telangana. The main draw is the Sri Ram temple, built in 1630 AD by Kancharla Gopanna (popularly known as Bhakta Ramadas), who spent 12 years in jail for using tax collections to fund its construction before Lord Rama repaid the debt through his brother Laxmana.
