Overview
Arima Onsen is one of Japan's Three Old Hot Springs with recorded history dating back to the Nihon Shoki published in 631. The town offers two unique hot spring experiences: the iron-rich Gold Spring (Kinsen) with its brownish-yellow color, and the colorless but mildly radioactive Silver Spring (Ginsen).

Money
ATMs may be limited; yen is the only currency accepted. Public bath admission ranges from ¥500-700.
Transport
Practical train route from Kobe costs ¥900-1000 and takes 45-60 minutes. Scenic ropeway route is more expensive but offers mountain views.
Weather
Hot springs are available year-round. Mt. Rokko views are best during clear weather conditions.
