Overview
Antofagasta is an industrial city in Northern Chile known as the 'Pearl of the North.' While it may be the least pleasant city in the north, a refurbished seafront has made it more attractive for tourists. It serves as a convenient stopover for travelers heading to San Pedro de Atacama and those traveling between the far north and central Chile.
