Overview
Alaró is a quiet commuter town of 6,100 residents in Mallorca's Raiguer wine-growing region, 25 km northeast of Palma. Its main draw is the Castillo de Alaró, a moorish castle perched atop a rocky massif with sweeping island views.

Transport
Trains run every 20 min from Palma to Consell (25 min), where you transfer to TIB Bus 342 for the 7-min ride to Alaró. Bus 331 adds weekend service.

Spring and autumn ideal for hiking. Summers can be very hot on the castle trail.
