Adanwomase is a living museum of Ghana's most prestigious textile art: Kente weaving. This town of 5,000 people in the Ashanti-Kwahu region has maintained the centuries-old tradition of weaving Kente cloth for the Ashanti King, royals, and discerning buyers.

Kente weaving is deeply sacred to the Ashanti people. Respectful behavior when visiting the Kente Chief's house is expected.
Language
Asante Twi is the local language. English is widely understood in Ghana but knowing basic Twi greetings is appreciated.
Money
Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) is the local currency. Cash is preferred for purchases from local vendors and artisans. ATMs available in Kumasi but limited in Adanwomase.
Transport
Tro-tros (shared minibuses) run from Kumasi's Ketijia Station, G line. By car, take Mampong Road north 19 km, turn right at Asonomaso Nkwanta, continue 5.5 km.
