Overview
Yining is a small border city in Xinjiang's Ili River Valley that has evolved from a Silk Road trading post into a relaxing multi-ethnic destination. Unlike the desert landscapes often associated with Xinjiang, Yining sits in a surprisingly green valley with fruit orchards and rich grazing land.
