Overview
Yelizovo is a small city of 40,000 on the Avacha River serving as the gateway to Kamchatka through its airport, the only commercial aviation hub on the peninsula. While the city itself has limited appeal for tourists, it functions as a practical transit point and base for exploring the surrounding volcanic wilderness.

Language
Yelizovo is not accustomed to non-Russian tourists. English speakers are rare outside the airport, and the service sector generally lacks experience with foreign visitors.
Shopping
Yelizovsky Market (ul. Завойко, 2) is the main shopping area. Souvenirs are not available—locals are surprised to see tourists. Universmag Vito grocery store on ulitsa Lenina provides essentials.
Transport
The Yelizovo bus station (53°11'6"N 158°23'19"E) connects to Termalny via Paratunka hourly and to Esso early mornings. Taxis are the most reliable option from the airport to the city center.
