Overview
Wadi El Gemal National Park is one of Egypt's most important protected areas, covering over 7,450 km² of marine and desert landscape in the Eastern Desert. The park shelters endangered species including the Nubian ibex and Egyptian vulture, while also preserving the traditional lifestyle of the ʿAbabda Bedouins who serve as guides for travelers.

Connectivity
No regular cellular coverage in the park. Satellite telephone is essential for emergency communication.
Packing
Bring all fuel, water, food, spare tires, and basic vehicle repair tools. Temperature extremes are common in the Eastern Desert.
Safety
This is remote desert terrain with no regular services. Carry satellite telephone, spare parts, fuel, water, and provisions. Travel only with experienced guides.
Transport
All visits require 4WD vehicles and experienced local guides from the national park administration. Motorcycles and quads are prohibited.
