Overview
Vitosha is Bulgaria's most accessible mountain, rising directly south of Sofia and easily reached by public transport or car. The nature park offers hiking trails, ski slopes, rock climbing, and mountain biking within minutes of the capital.

Accommodation
Camping is prohibited in the park. Mountain huts offer basic dormitory-style accommodation. Hotel Moreni provides the most comfortable option with doubles from 130 лв.
Activities
Popular activities include hiking (Cherni Vrah peak), rock climbing at Kominite and Kamen Del, skiing at Vitosha Ski resort, and visiting waterfalls.
Transport
Buses and marshrutkas (minibuses) run from central Sofia to Vitosha's lower slopes. A car offers the most flexibility for accessing different trailheads.
Weather
Mountain weather is unpredictable year-round. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer. Winter brings sub-zero temperatures and significant snow at higher elevations.
