Flying Samovar Cafe offers the main sit-down dining option. For groceries, the Alaverdi central shuka has a Kata Supermarket. Locals may offer homemade preserves and oghi (fruit brandy) for sale.
Money
Armenian Dram (AMD) is the local currency. Cash is preferred in Tumanyan. Honey sold by locals costs 4,500 AMD/kg. Larger purchases or accommodation may accept cards in some cases.
Transport
Marshrutkas run between Tumanyan and Alaverdi (20-30 min). From Alaverdi, trains connect to Yerevan. Local marshrutkas also serve Odzun and nearby villages.
